Well, today we, the band people, were allowed to go to school late ^^ how cool is that? we get to come to school no later than 9.30 AM. Teehee! And I reached school at about 9.10+. When to the library to return those books I read. The Little Prince and The Book of Mysteries and Imaginations. Cool, yeah? Now I've borrowed another book.. It's called Jade Green: a ghost story. Hope that it's nice XD
Then we went to Mir's class to get Disa's Pendant... Well, she was supposed to be out of her class. However, she wasn't. And we had time to spare no more. So, as you know, Cindy will do the fastest method to solve a problem - get into the class and asked for her. It was Mr Roland Tan's lessons. He did not even know who was "Miranda" -_- gosh.. And yeah. She was sort of shocked.. "Cin.. C.. C.. How come.. Until you come into the class.." Haha.. And she started stammering, blabbering out all sorts of words. Anyway, she ended with a wish of good luck for us ^^
Then, we ran to the band room and started warming up. Sir was there already, yepz. Then at about 12+ we were released for our lunch break and by 1.30 PM we had to go back to the band room, full dressed without the court shoes, of course. Then we had some run through... Sir wanted us to play louder. It was a challenge. x_X And I couldn't do it... Sigh..
Anyway, at about 2+ the buses arrived and we started out journey to the Singapore Conference Hall. It was a trip full of nervousness and, of course, hope. We held on tightly onto our goal of achieving a gold. When we were entering the hall, our sirs said a few words of comfort and encouragement. "Don't be afraid. Just blow with confidence." Was what I received at the the door. Those weren't the exact words but they were somewhere along that line. It was this that told me that no matter what happens, I'm just gonna play and hope for the best.
We played our best on stage and some of us broke down right after the performance, at the balcony. I guess it was a big relieve for everyone. However, the biggest blow was awaiting us.
Well, the buses arrived again at the SCH, waiting for us to bring us back to school. All of us then went back to school and into the band room. We cleaned and packed our instruments, our belongings too. We then gathered at the front of the room and waited the results. I was smsing with a few people at that point of time. Wilona, Izzati, Phyone, Wei Shan... May really did lift my moods. However, I still felt the intensity and chewed some chocs to calm myself down. But the head of welfare caught me and had to find some other ways to calm my nerves x_X It was then that I remembered the book! Haha! So I flipped open the pages and was just starting to read when Mr Salleh said that he had received a call! I abruptly stopped and started holding onto YuZeng and we waited for the announcement to be made. It was horrifying.
Seconds and minutes soon pass. Of course, we didn't know what was really happening there except from the descriptions given to us. The results are as following:
Jurong West - Silver
North View -COP
St. Margaret - Silver
East Spring - Bronze (Hey.. I think that they're really admirable =])
Bedok View - Bronze
Hougang - Bronze
Loyang - Bronze
And yesh, you must have guessed what we achieved... Bronze
And the school after us, Raffles Institution - Gold
I do not know about the other schools. The line was already cut. I was sitting right in front of Mr Salleh at the first row. I was re-confirming with him, asking him whether he was joking. He repeated himself and thanked the teacher instead. It was really bronze. Well, frankly speaking, I was shocked. Never have I thought that we will be receiving bronze. After all, we've tried and done our best. It was definitely something unexpected. I sobbed.. A tear or two did drop from my eyes. I hugged Stephanie and stayed like that for a few moments. Thanks so much ya Steph! ^^
Many of us were hysterical. Yes, some wailed out and cried a river. Some ran to the washroom and that was how we all were until the point of time when sirs returned. When they came in, we clapped our hands. Sir definitely deserved much more. Without him, we wouldn't have been able to join the SYF and he had glued us together. Sir Badrul and Sir Faizal addressed us. Telling us that no matter what our result was, we were still the best. Hehe.. He even said something like "Just remember that we are the best dang bronze band!" Hahah! That's so cute! And to enlighten the atmosphere, I laughed. Oh yeah, before that the major addressed us too, and I was the first to break the ice into an ocean of applause. Then Sir faizal and other people talked too and I chuckled here and there a little at their words to enlighten the atmosphere. However, I don't think I helped. =[
Anyway, we then left the room and headed down the stairs. Kodok was sad too. And when we were down, we met Penguin and Siska.. I'm so touched.. Hee hee.. Penguin straight away hugged me the moment she saw me ^^ So did Siska.. And we chatted a little.. Saw Jerry and some other guys. They were picking up their girls. Haha.. Then Siska and Kodok went of together, back to their house while Penguin, Disa and I went to Tiong to eat. It's the end of a long day, after all. =]
While eating, Panda called. Isnu was on the line too. Haha.. They've heard the news and were about to comfort me when they realized that I wasn't that sad anymore. That's so cute XD haha!! Thanks anyway ya guys!! ^O^ hehehe!! Don't be sad!! Me definitely felt touched! =]]
Then, we went home after the meal. Disa dropped off first. Half-way on the way, bro called. Hee hee.. Bet he was worried or maybe he just wanted to tease me or comfort me. =] His words are always so spicy but gee, they mean well.. Haha!! He was like "whoaw.. Now you're that crazy girl again.. What happen to that sad girl just now?" Lol.. HAhah! XD hey, this is Cindy! =] I'm cool! ^^
Now, BL Wei Shan was telling me that she cried 6 times on her SYF day because of the results. HAha! And comforted me too, sort of. Saying that we would work hard together =] Although this is the last year.. And many congratulated me.. Haha.. Thnx ya guys.. ^^ Hope the future will be bright for us!
To Izzat, go for it man!! heheheh Does this mean that you're gonna be the future Section Leader?Hee hee!! Congratz!! ^^ You can do it!! heheh!!
To Wei Shan, hey!! I've seen your blog!! thnx so much ya!! Cheer up too! ^^ Try harder in the future when you've gotten into your JC/Poly!! Kayz?? And when that time comes, do inform me ya!! =]]
To Phyone, haha.. Yeah.. In 2 more years time, things may be much better than today. Who knows? If we work hard enough, nothing's impossible.. Right? =D
To everyone else, hehe.. Thank you!! ^o^ I wonder how many thank yous I have to say.. Hahah.. I think even a million of it won't be enough.
Anyway, that's it from me today. The end of the day of SYF Band competition '07 16-04 at about 4.15 PM... Lucks to all the people who have not gone for your competition!! ^^
Next up for us, Choir and dance.. FIGHTING!!! And.. MID-YEAR EXAMS
